Serge Plume was born in Ronse (Belgium) in 1967.

 He studied classical trumpet (Bachelor) at the Royal Music Conservatory in Ghent and graduated (Master) in '90 at the jazz-department of the Conservatory in Hilversum (with Ack Van Rooyen).

 He worked with a lot of (radio)Big Bands such as: WDR (Cologne), HR (Frankfurt), SWR (Stuttgart), The Skymasters (Hilversum), the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), the Timeless Jazz Orchestra (Hilversum), l'Orchestre Régional de Jazz  (Lille), Caratini Jazz Ensemble (Paris), The King of Swing Orchestra (Cologne) and El Tattoo del Tigre (Antwerp).

He worked for more than four years with the legendary Swiss bandleader Hazy Osterwald and two years with the "Orchestre National de Jazz" in Paris.

He is one of the most sought after studio-performers in Holland and Belgium. He recorded and/or toured with a lot of (inter)national pop-stars and participated to hundreds of tv- and radio-shows (for VARA, TROS, AVRO, RTL4, Veronica, Talpa, FR2 (Paris), RTL (Cologne), VRT & VTM).

He is co-founder and lead-trumpetplayer of the renowned "Brussels Jazz Orchestra”.
